Private Security Instructor Development Course
This professional development program is designed to teach advanced instructor techniques to private security personnel. The program will provide the student with the information they need to become a classroom instructor and will enhance their skills as a training presenter, whether they are presenting to a group or one-on-one. A strong emphasis is placed on lesson plan development, improved presentation skills, instructor liability, and innovative didactic technology. Hands-on training will provide students the opportunity for instructor and peer appraisals, as well as the opportunity to address any pre-existing attendee instructional concerns.
This program will provide the student with the minimum topics of instructor development required to teach at the Academy, the security industry, in-service training and other courses. It will identify various roles of the instructor; and recognize the qualities and importance of being an ethical instructor. This course will identify the needs of adult learners and their learning styles; styles of lesson plans; creating outlines; and creating lesson plans for classroom presentation, which will be videotaped. The student will identify various types of presentations. They will understand which type of presentation is best for given situations and identify methods for preparing a presentation. The student will develop and present an appropriate PowerPoint presentation. They will be able to identify various resources and training aids; and understand how to correctly use resources and aids.
The cost to attend the Instructor Development Program is $700.00 per person. There is limited space available; therefore paid reservations will be accepted on a priority basis.
Required Materials
Participants should bring materials relevant to the subject they will be teaching during their class presentation.
Audience
Participants should be currently licensed, registered, and certified Special Police officers, Conservators of the Peace, licensed Security Officers, Certified Emergency Medical Instructors, or Public Safety Trainers.
Cost: $700.00
Minimum Time: 60 hours
