Private Security Unarmed Course

Definition under DC Municipal Code § 17.2100.1.a-d
According to DCMR Title 17 Chapter 21; "Unarmed security officer" means any person privately employed to:
- Prevent the theft, misappropriation, or concealment of goods, wares, merchandise, money, bonds, stock certificates, or other valuable documents, papers, and articles;
- Prevent damage to real or personal property;
- Prevent assaults, gate-crashing, or other disorders at meetings, events, or performances; or
- Prevent similar illegal occurrences
This course prepares the individual seeking license as a private security officer in the District of Columbia. There are qualifications that must be met along with the passing of an examination given by the Security Officers Management Branch of the Chief of Police Office. This course covers the entry level lessons of private security to include a comprehensive instruction of the code which applies to security officers.
